Luke Barton Joins Zertia as Open source Practice Leader
ATLANTA, GA (May 7, 2008)- Zertia, an Atlanta-based business technology solutions firm, has acquired ten24, a full-service Internet development company headed by Luke Barton. Barton will remain with Zertia as leader of the firm’s Open source Practice.
"We’re very pleased to have Luke aboard,” said Zertia President Dan Kehoe. "He brings a great deal of commercial Open source experience and will play a key role in expanding our offerings in that area.”
Barton is a Bronze Level partner of eZ Systems, the world's largest Open source Content Management software company, and is certified as an eZ Publish developer. He has provided information architecture, content strategy, design, development, coding and analysis for websites such as http://www.thefrontlineforce.com, http://www.womenforhire.com and http://www.cleanaircampaign.com.
"I’m working as an Open source evangelist, introducing Zertia customers to the options available with commercial Open source development,” he said. "People are beginning to think beyond proprietary systems and imagine what’s possible through the community partnerships fostered by Open source. It’s an exciting place to be as a developer.”
"We now have robust offerings in both Microsoft and commercial Open source, which allows us the flexibility we need in order to be effective in both camps. This is something that very few firms have achieved” said Mark Butler, Zertia’s vice president of sales and marketing.
