Stationery Style

Overview

Stationery Style is a premium online retail store providing fine papers and gifts including invitations, announcements, personalized stationery, enclosure cards, luggage tags and accessories for all of life's special events and occasions. Stationery Style initially approached Zertia as a new business concept looking for a complete web design and development. Being new, they also were looking for a unique branding separate from their competitors. Zertia worked with Stationery Style to build their new e-commerce business from the ground up. Careful planning, a collaborative design and development process, and the use of leading web technologies have given Stationery Style a best-in-class solution.

Challenge

Stationery Style’s biggest concern was to have a feature that would set them apart from other online stationery companies. Working with Zertia, the two came up with the idea to make a real time type setting to customize Stationery Style’s products. According to Zertia Creative Director, Bryan Moseley, “We had to really think of something that would bring customers to Stationery Style. Lots of companies can make customizable stationery but to actually see the changes in real time is cutting edge.” Another challenge for this project was to create a site that would be easily updated by Stationery Style’s employees. They wanted to consistently offer new products and needed to be able to keep up with these changes on the site.

Solution

After much planning, Zertia was able to create an entire site for Stationery Style complete with new branding and full ecommerce capabilities. The most notable and impressive feature of the site was the real-time typesetting functionality that allows users to view, fully customize, and save product text and settings. Another important aspect of the site was the inclusion of a robust administration tool that provides Stationery Style with control of all aspects of the site, from product images to prices of extra features. In order to ensure smooth online transactions, Zertia incorporated a complete e-commerce package with security and flexibility, featuring dynamic reporting of orders and tracking of status such as payment and shipping. As far as the business side of the company, Zertia created a component that provides integration with accounting for seamless and automated posting of orders, invoices and payments.

As a result of the new site, Stationery Style became one of the leaders in the customizable online stationery industry. According to Zertia President, Dan Kehoe, “We were able to provide Stationery Style with the necessary tools to make some really great sales.” They had very sophisticated features that set them apart from their competitors. Stationery Style’s unique real time type setting has yet to be duplicated in the stationery market. Their site has given them a competitive advantage to grow and expand in the future.
